Thank you for taking the time to visit us, our Dojo is based at
Houghton Sports Complex and the club has been there for many years.
We practise Shotokan Karate and are a member of the Karate Union of
Great Britain, this is the largest Karate organisation in England.
We took over the club from Sensei Christine Pullan in 1992.
Houghton has many Black Belts as well as lower grades students, we
teach both adults and children and persons with special needs in the
same class. Gradings are held 3 times a year and we always have one
of the K.U.G.B senior instructors taking these grading sessions.
There is an annual club competition held for all our students to
enter, the higher grades also enter regional and national
competitions held by the K.U.G.B throughout the year and we have
been very successful at these.
Once a month we also have a weapons class, this again is for higher
grades and our instructor for these lessons are, Sensei Paul Gray
(3rd Dan Aikido) with the assistance of Derek Armstrong (2nd Dan)
and Pascal Fintoni (2nd Kyu)Please see the relevant link
